We’re going to assume the British directors of “Fleabag,” “Big Little Lies,” “Killing Eve” and “The Crown” did not qualify. On the drama side, the filmmakers behind “Pose” and “Euphoria” were also overlooked. That meant directors behind “Russian Doll” and “The Good Place,” among others, were snubbed. Somewhat surprisingly, “Maisel” earned two nominations, one each for both Amy Sherman Palladino and Daniel Palladino, respectively. And, as expected, buzz-worthy shows such as “Watchmen,” “Succession,” “Barry” and “The Marvelous Mrs.
